F A Q
Q. What is spiral life health & wellness?
A. Spiral Life Health & Wellness is the business entity/brand extension of myself, the services I offer and the vision/mission contained therein. With SLH&W, my goal is to reach as many people as possible with my message of elevating the self—body, mind & spirit—in order to elevate the collective. And with this message, I offer my services as a holistic Health Coach to help guide and support each willing individual on their spiral journey of personal elevation.
Q. is this just another diet/exercise program?
A. No it is not. Though we will definitely work with you in regards to your diet and exercise needs, there are myriad other areas of your health and wellness that will need to be examined and brought to light. Also, in contrast to the average diet & exercise programs, your food intake and workout regimen will not be pre-planned and mapped out to what I think you should do before we even meet. My style of coaching involves getting to know the client first, and then working together to co-create a plan that fits their life and elevates their health and wellness in the most beneficial way for where they are currently on their spiral.
Q. what does it mean to live a spiral life?
A. Living a Spiral Life means that you are always working on elevating and improving different aspects of yourself, which I refer to as the elements of your spiral. Diet and exercise are great, but there is much more that goes into the health and wellness of your entire being. Elevating your spiral means focusing on self care in all aspects of your life, finding your personal truth and being your most authentic self at all times.
Q. what are your, josh brown’s, credentials?
A. In respect to formal degrees and certifications, I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Oklahoma State University, certification as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach from IIN™, and certification from ISSA as a Personal Fitness Trainer. Informally, I have a lot of personal experience with self-elevation and working with many different elements of my own personal spiral. I am also very spiritually-involved and have been focused on spiritual growth and perspective for as long as I can remember. Also, I wrote a book in 2018 called The Spiral Life: An Introduction to Personal Elevation Through Conscious Health & Wellness, in which I delve deeper into the idea of the spiral life and what that entails, from an introductory/general/wide-range viewpoint. Apart from all of that, I really just want to help as many people with their personal elevation as possible, to the point where it makes an impact on the human collective.
Q. what is a health coach, and how do they differ from other health professionals?
A. Where most health professionals have their niche areas of expertise, Health Coaches are more holistically-minded, focusing on the individual as a whole and all aspects of their health and well-being. Health Coaches are also much more personally involved with the clients, being their individual health advocate and helping/guiding them with the day-to-day of self care and personal elevation. With Spiral Life, I take it a step further and become a Spiral Life Coach, working with individuals on everything mentioned, while fitting it all into the idea/visualization of implementing it into their own personal spiral. All that being said, the work done with a Spiral Life Coach should not override the advice/guidance of an already established primary health practitioner. Ideally, they would work together with all other health professionals working with said client—whether it be a doctor, physical therapist, psychiatrist, etc.—to make sure all parties involved know what is going on.
Q. what are the benefits of working with a Spiral Life Coach?
A. There are numerous benefits of working one-on-one with a Spiral Life Coach. Obviously, I can’t possibly list them all, but here are a few benefits you will receive:
Completely personalized, one-on-one guidance that is based on you, the client;
A safe, peaceful and judgement-free environment to share your goals and concerns, and actually be listened to;
Constant support and accountability from an expert who understands the challenges involved in elevating yourself;
Your very own personal health advocate and confidant; everything is completely confidential and geared toward your success;
Assistance with finding truth in the ocean of information (and misinformation) that is constantly available to us;
Depending on the Coach, spiritual perspective and guidance that is completely unbiased in regards to your personal and/or religious beliefs;
Guidance in regards to consciousness and creativity.
Q. who is this for?
A. The Spiral Life is literally for everyone in every walk of life. Whether they work with me personally or not, I believe everyone should be doing everything they can to perpetually elevate themselves and, by extension, the world around them. If you have tried diets and exercise programs, but nothing has worked, this is for you. If you have been excelling with fitness and nutrition, but feel like you’re still missing something, this is for you. If you are a health professional yourself, or other community leader (doctor, coach, teacher, trainer, public speaker, manager, nurse, preacher, nutritionist, yoga instructor, etc.) and you feel like you are constantly giving support, but not getting it yourself, this is for you. If you are a minor, and you need guidance in certain areas of your health, with your guardian’s permission, this is for you. If you are getting older and want to age as gracefully and injury/illness-free as possible, this is for you. I could go on and on, but I think you get the point. Everybody has, and will always have, things in their lives that need elevated or improved in some way, wherever they are on their path. Just know that I am here, patiently and excitedly waiting to help in whatever way you allow.
Q. should i check with my dr/pcp/other hp before signing up?
A. I definitely encourage you to let them know that you have decided to work with me as your Spiral Life Coach. Also, let them know that I would love to answer any questions they may have, as well as discuss any important aspects of your health that they may feel I should know about. My goal is to help you on your spiral health journey in every way I can, so I definitely want to make sure I’m not interfering with something you might have going on that I am currently unaware of—for example, if you are taking a medication that responds badly to certain types of foods, or if there are certain exercises that your physical therapist would want you to stay away from, etc. I want to work together synergistically with the other members of your health team to make sure we are all on the same page; I do not wish to compete with them or undermine them in any way.
Q. i signed up for my free consultation. what happens next?
A. First of all, thank you so much. I am beyond grateful that you are interested in working with me to help on your journey of conscious health and wellness. When you submit your consultation form, it will come directly to me, and I will contact you (in as timely manner as possible) to schedule a date and time. Once that is established, I will email you a few documents and forms to fill out before we meet. Then, we will conduct your consultation at the established date and time, and go from there. The consultation will consist of us getting to know each other, while discussing the basics of where you are on your journey, where you want to be, and what I can do to assist you on your way. At the end of the consultation (which will last about 30-45 minutes) we will discuss terms, pricing, etc., and you will have the opportunity to decide if you would like to sign-up for my services, or respectfully decline. Either way, your consultation is 100% FREE, and there is absolutely no obligation to sign-up.
Q. what does a typical month of services look like?
A. Each month we work together, we will meet up at least twice—either in person or via phone/video conversation. Each session will be about 50 minutes in duration, unless we decide on different terms when we set up your program agreement. In between our sessions, you will have unlimited access to me for any questions you may have, or anything else you might need to mention or discuss. As far as what exactly we will work on together, that is totally up to you and what your current goals and concerns are. When working with your spiral, we will cycle through all different aspects of your health and wellness, but where we begin is up to you. For example, if your weight is your biggest issue at the present moment, we will address that first. After some time has past and you have made progress with your current weight goals, we will start to explore the other elements of your spiral to see where the next step will take us. Again, what we work on will be ultimately up to you; however, as your own personal health advocate and Coach, I will make suggestions as I see fit. We will be working towards your goals together as a team, so I assure you I will not be assuming the role of Health Tyrant and just tell you what to do.
Q. How and/or where will meet for our sessions?
A. This will be completely dependent on the client and what works best for each individual. As a small startup, I actually don’t have a physical location as of now, so we will either need to meet up somewhere that works well for both the client and myself (i.e. some public place like a coffee shop, hotel lobby, park, etc.), or we will simply conduct our sessions via phone or video chat. These options make it convenient whether you live near me in the Tulsa area, somewhere else in the state, somewhere else in the country or in a different country altogether. Wherever you live, we will make it work.
Q. how long will we work together?
A. This changes from client to client, as it is ultimately their decision, but I suggest working together for at least 6 months. This generally gives us plenty of time to build a good relationship with each other, make positive progress with your goals and possibly even move on to different goals that come up as we work together, without feeling rushed and pressured to achieve. However, each client is free to request a shorter time frame if they are not comfortable committing to 6 months. Also, each client will have the opportunity to sign-up for continued coaching once their initial program period comes to an end. As I have stated before, no matter what someone accomplishes or where they are on their journey, there are always aspects of the body, mind and spirit that can be elevated; and I am prepared to assist you at every level of your elevation.
Q. how much do your services cost?
A. The first thing I would like to say in reference to cost is that I prefer you to look at this as an investment in yourself, rather than just another bill. That being said, the monetary cost will depend entirely on what you, as an individual, choose, based on what fits your lifestyle and personal availability. There are several different options to choose from, or we can custom fit a plan that works well for you. Among the different options available, you can choose to schedule individual appointments when you see fit (choosing between 30 or 50-minute sessions); you can choose to go month-to-month, in which you will decide the number of sessions (1-4/month) and the length of the sessions (30 or 50 minutes); also, if you know that you would like a long-term plan, there is the option to signup for, and schedule, several months in advance. Along with all of these options, the cost will differ based on the setup and design of your plan, combined with how you choose to pay—per session, monthly, bi-monthly, or prepaying for several sessions/months in advance, which will make you eligible for a ‘Paid-in-Full’ discount. Also, I will run different signup deals, discounts and promotional offers throughout the year. So, to summarize, how much will Spiral Life Coaching cost? It depends. We will discuss cost more in depth during your FREE consultation. Click here to sign up now.
